RAMROD Stories: The 2017 Jersey Design

A look into the design concept behind this year's event jersey

Looking Forward
The design approach for this year's jersey began with last year's design which embraced classic national park poster artwork to create a vintage look appropriate to celebrate the National Park Service's Centennial celebration. (Click here to read about the 2016 jersey). For 2017, we look forward to the park's next 100 years and introduce a jersey design that borrows from today's graphic design trends utilizing bright colors, bold typography, geometric illustration and minimalism. The result is a 2017 jersey design that looks very different from last year's vintage design and the typical detailed designs used in previous RAMROD jerseys.

This year's colorway selects a primary color that we haven't seen for a while: yellow. The use of a pale yellow gradient reminds one of the of the sun coming up and setting beyond mountain. Grey is the accent color for the jersey details, trees and course that frame the scene.

Producing Jerseys
This year, we collaborated with our production partner Primal to design and produce the 2017 jerseys. By partnering directly with the manufacturer we are pleased to be able to extend the jersey ordering deadline by two weeks to have your jersey for the event. Also new this year, jerseys pre-purchased online will be shipped directly to your home arriving on July 14. Please note that the jersey manufacturer is the same as prior years so the sizing has not changed.

The 2017 RAMROD Jersey
Our 2017 jersey features a rare asymmetric design using a yellow and grey colorway.
