Prepare with a training series specifically designed for RAMROD.
We're celebrating 15 years of RTS this season! RTS was created to assist riders in their preparation for RAMROD. The self paced rides will be held every Saturday starting on 4.6.19 to 7.20.19 (except for 7.6.19). The routes will increase in distance and elevation every two weeks. Starting locations will rotate every week or every two weeks with a new route used each week.
All riders are welcome, but note, this ride does not regroup nor does it have a sweep. The routes are designed for the experienced rider who is comfortable following cue sheets and riding independently. We stress safe and cooperative riding.
A Redmond Cycling Club (RCC) membership is required to participate in the series. The RCC Membership (just $15 for the entire year) pays for the insurance cost involved with putting on RTS. If you are not a member of the Redmond Cycling Club, consider joining before the ride. You can sign up in minutes online here. You may take part in one ride as a guest to check the series out. If you wish to continue with the series after your initial ride you will need to become an RCC member.
Weather – The decision to ride or cancel will be made from the starting location. Ride leaders will always be at the start of the ride. If the ride is officially canceled, the route will still be available for those hearty souls that wish to train in any condition. Also, routes may be altered or shortened due to weather conditions.
The routes will be available on RidewithGPS.com approximately one week before each ride. To Search for the ride “Enter starting city”, “starts within 5 Miles” and Keywords "RTS 2019" to find routes.
NOTE: We will no longer be providing Cue Sheets at the start of the ride. Cue Sheets will only be available via the RTS Facebook group. If you desire a paper cue sheet on the ride you must bring your own copy.
Ride leaders for this series are: Per Sunde, Shana Sunde, Paul Franks, David Hose, Jim Vecht and Carl Ringler.
